A few days ago I was chatting with Dr. John simon, one of my favorite veterinarians about a post I was planning for this blog that focused on what to do with Halloween candy. We both had that 'instant of enlightenment' and we talked about what do you do with family pets and halloween candy. After all, a healthy life style includes the entire family - right? Although Halloween is always an exciting time for kids it may not turn out to be as much fun for their pets,dog or cat. When the children come back from trick or treating they bring with them full bags of every type of candy imaginable. A smart parent will take their child’s candy and dole it out over a period of time so they don’t over indulge and get sick.
Unfortunately, family dogs may not be willing to wait and will devour the whole bag of candy if they get the chance.
